The Women of Luke 8 Day 13

Another woman specifically mentioned in Luke 8 is Joanna, the wife of Chuza. Her husband worked for Herod making Joanna a lady of the court. Chuza had the high ranking job of taking care of King Herod’s financial interests. Due to holding this position, we know Chuza was a trusted and important individual.

Many Biblical scholars link Chuza to the royal official referred to in the account of John 4:46-53.

Whether the royal official in John 4 is Chuza or not, we know one thing for sure. Chuza’s role in the palace opened up a door for Joanna to share about Christ with others in the palace despite the fact that King Herod was not a follower of Christ.

What doors have been opened for you to share about Christ with others?

What are the challenges of sharing the love of Christ with these individuals?
