With Loud Singing

Do you have a favorite Bible verse? Most likely, if you have been reading in the Scriptures for a given amount of time you have your favorite verse or verses and even your favorite Bible stories.

My favorite Scripture comes from a book of not so warm and fuzzy Scripture, Zephaniah. Yet, in the midst of it, you get this precious gem.

"The Lord, you God, is in your midst,

a warrior who gives victory;

he will rejoice over you with gladness;

he will renew you in his love;

he will exult over you with loud singing" (Zephaniah 3:17).

Do you know what it means to exult?

The dictionary defines the word exult in this way. Exult: to show or feel a lively or triumphant joy; rejoice exceedingly; be highly elated or jubilant;

According to the precious Scripture from Zephaniah, God exults over us. God exults over you. God has lively triumphant joy over you. God rejoices exeeedingly over you. God is highly elated and jubilant over you. According to Zephaniah 3:17, one way God does this is with loud singing. Have you ever heard God sing over you? I bet you have, but you just do not realize it. God exults over you with loud singing through the melody of birds as you walk around outside through the hum of your air conditioner on a hot summer afternoon through the rhythm of crickets at night through the soft hush of waves when you find yourself on a beach through the soothing word of a friend who knows exactly what to say through the sounds of pages turning as you dig into the Bible

through the sounds of a pouring rain onto a land in need of much water through the sounds of sizzling fajitas while having dinner with friends or family through the sounds of a pen or pencil writing while sending someone an encouraging note. through the sounds of the music from your favorite song.

God sings over us in so many unique ways. God loves you and rejoices over you with loud singing. Listen for the sweet melodies this week in the many different forms they are sung.
