Step By Step

This weekend I journeyed to a different town and stayed in a large treetop house. On one side of the house you pulled your car in the driveway, climbed one step onto the porch, and walked right in. However, on the other side of the house there was a looooong set of stairs you had to climb to get from the driveway to the entrance of the home. This is what gave the house its name of treetop house. From this perspective, it appeared to be sitting at the tops of the trees.

I believe our lives are like the entrances to this treetop house. Some weeks we feel like we just glide along or walk right in and out of everyday life easily. However, other weeks are a different story.

Other weeks you feel as if you have a mountain to climb.

In life we are faced with several mountains to climb. What is the mountain that you are facing this week. Maybe it is a physical mountain of work or other responsibilities that need to be fulfilled. Maybe it is an emotional mountain involving a relationship, a loss, a need for guidance.

Whatever your mountain this week, I want you to remember three things.

God is climbing with you. God is there taking the journey with us each and every step of the way.

Practice gratitude along the way. With each step you take on your climb this week, pause and take a moment to share thanks to God for a blessing that happened at that point in the journey.

Don't give up. The view from the top is beautiful. You just have to keep going. Oh what wonderful things God has in store for you when you reach the end of the climb. Just wait until you look back, and see how far you have come!
