Recently my family participated all together in the most glorious of activities. We ate dinner out at a restaurant!!!
We sat down with glee at a diner near the beach, and after we ordered from the menu my seven year old daughter said to me, “Mom, do you have any crayons. I’m bored!” Hoping we were past the point of needing to be entertained while waiting for food, I naively did not pack any activities for this outing. In this moment I did what any unprepared mom would do, I dug around in my purse to see what hidden treasures I could find. In my hunt for lost treasure through my bag I found not just one, not just two, but three whole crayons. A miracle from Jesus? Oh I think so!

“Just three?!” inquired my sweet child. Ok, so maybe she did not think this a miracle.
“That’s all I got” I replied. She pulled out the paper holder that contained her silverware and began decorating it.
How often we feel like we ourselves lack the resources we need to accomplish the purpose God has for us. We may feel God calling us to serve in a certain position, minister to a specific person, or participate in a specific project. Yet, we respond with questions and/or excuses about how we do not have what we need.
We do not have enough time, skills, funds. Just like my daughter felt she did not have enough crayons to create the masterpiece she envisioned.
However, she had not just three crayons. She had the three primary colors. My daughter had EXACTLY what she needed to make other colors and create her masterpiece.
Whatever you have, when God calls you, He will use it to create a beautiful masterpiece if you respond with trust and obedience.
Between the time we ordered from the menu and the time our food came, this picture above was the art my daughter created with just three crayons. Call me biased, but I think it is a masterpiece.
I cannot wait to see the masterpieces God creates through you as you use what you have, obey the Lord’s call, and trust in His perfect plan and purpose for you!
