Be A Stand Out

This weekend our family found ourselves at one of the numerous fall festivals around the county. I chose this particular one for the hay ride. My daughter was all about the cake walk! As a part of this event there was a pumpkin decorating table. My artsy eight year old was ecstatic to put a face on her pumpkin. We left the event with lots of prizes, candy, a welcome bag, and the decorated pumpkin.

I put the pumpkin on our dining room table. It definitely catches my eye in the most joyously shocking of ways. It definitely makes me smile. It is a stand out.

As we go into another week, what do you say we all become like this decorated pumpkin. Let's stand out in the pumpkin patches we find ourselves in. Let's stand out and shock everyone in the most joyous possible way...

with our unexpected extension of grace.

with our over the top joy.

with our actions of love.

with our spirit of peace.

Let the people stop and stare! Let the people wonder about you! Let them grin about you. Let them see God through you.

"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's own people, in order that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light" (1 Peter 2:9).
