Under Construction

What happens when you see a “Men At Work” sign or “Road Work Ahead” sign on the road? They can’t help but catch your attention with the bright orange or yellow fluorescent glow of the sign! Not only do we start to pay extra attention to what is happening around us, we often start to slow down as well. We want to get a better look at what is taking place, and we want to proceed with caution so we do not run into anything. We take note of the different people along the side of the road or in the middle of the road participating in the process. Often times as we drive through the construction area, we are only catching a glimpse of the larger plan of what is being repaired or built.

It is important for us to remember that God is constantly at work each and every day not just in our own lives but in the world around us. However, we often just speed don through our days without thinking or acknowledging this. Every aspect of our lives is a construction zone that God is either building or repairing. I want to challenge you this week to slow down and take it in. Look for where God is at work in your life and in the lives of those around you. Acknowledge the people that God is using to carry out His will in the process. Recognize that what we see is just a portion of God’s big and perfect plan. There will be moments when things in our life and in the world appear to be an absolute danger zone of a mess. However, confidently know that God is going before you and working in the midst of the construction zone.

Work in progress sign

Remember God is constantly working and moving, God goes before you, God knows the bigger pictures, and God has a perfect plan! God is working! Slow down and look for it, so you do not miss it!

It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
