The Suncatcher Series Part 1: Take the Leap

When my daughter was around five years old she painted a series of suncatchers. She has a passion for art, and we wanted to encourage this in her, so we found windows to hang all her suncatchers in around the house. In our kitchen is a painted frog suncatcher. It hangs on the window over our kitchen sink.

The frog is bright and makes me smile. However, frogs also always make me think of the game leap frog where children have to take the leap and hop over one another like frogs. When I see this frog in my window each day, I ask myself what is God calling me to do today that would be a leap out of my comfort zone.

Maybe you do not feel like you qualify.

Maybe you do not feel like you have enough time.

Maybe you feel like you do not have enough information.

Maybe the leap God is calling you to make does not make sense to you.

Maybe you worry what your friends or family will say.

Maybe you think there is someone better suited for the jump.

The frog in my window is not perfect and neither are we. However, in spite of this, God calls us and desperately desires to use us to carry out His will and plan.

So today, I want to encourage you to take the leap. Bring something colorful into the world. Make someone smile. Show that you are a child of the King.

You will not regret any leap God is calling you to take!

"I hereby command you: Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9).
